Kyla Williams Tate is a policy leader, independent researcher, poet, and cultural practitioner whose work explores how institutions and communities shape and are shaped by technology, culture, art, and one another. Drawing on her experience as the inaugural Director of Digital Equity for Cook County, Illinois, Kyla brings a cross-sector perspective to questions of access, power, and possibility. Her talks invite audiences to think more expansively about how we build systems, tell stories, and steward the future.
Blending policy insight, storytelling, and artistic expression, Kyla creates experiences that are both analytical and deeply human. Her work adapts to the moment, engaging questions of emerging technology, civic life, cultural memory, and the evolving relationship between people and institutions.
Kyla is available for keynote presentations, panels, workshops, artistic performances, and guest lectures. She also creates custom poetic and artistic reflections for conferences, convenings, and special events.
